No reading is required for this course; but some students like to study before hand in order to get the most out of their course. For the Self-Rescue course we suggest that students prepare by reading:
Climbing Self-Rescue: Improvising Solutions to Serious Situations by: Andy Tyson and Molly Loomis, The Mountaineers Books 2006
All the techniques featured are useful in Self Rescue but not all are used in the course. We suggest that you concentrate on the following techniques in this order.
